Basic Stir Fry Marinade

3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sherry, orange juice, brandy, or vinegar
2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic or
2 cloves fresh garlic
white and/or cayenne pepper, to taste

Whisk ingredients together, use to coat 1 pound thinly sliced meat, poultry or seafood. Cover and refrigerate to allow flavor to penetrate the meat. Stir-fry with 4 cups assorted raw vegetables, chopped into bite-sized pieces.
