* Exported from MasterCook * Herbed Steak and Mushrooms (Lo-Carb) Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 8-01 Mar 2005 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 pounds beef round steak -- cut 3/4-inch thick 1 medium onion -- sliced 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms or two 4-ounce jars mushroom stems and pieces drained well 3 garlic cloves -- minced 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1/4 cup dry white wine -- or beef broth 1/2 teaspoon crushed dry basil 1/4 teaspoon crushed dried marjoram Salt and pepper -- to taste Trim fat from meat. Cut steak into 6 serving size pieces In large Dutch oven, brown beef, onions, mushrooms and garlic in the olive oil until lightly browned. In a bowl, combine soup, wine, basil, marjoram, salt and pepper; pour over meat. Cover and bake at 325 degrees F. for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
