Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons bottled minced garlic
1/2 cup finely minced onion
2 tablespoons lemon juice
16 ounces Ketchup
1/2 cup tomato juice
1/2 cup spicy V-8 juice
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/8 cup chili powder
1/8 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; saute until
onion is tender but not brown. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil,
reduce heat and simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, 1 to 1 1/2 hours or
until sauce is thickened.
Use sauce warm, over chicken, pork, ribs or hamburgers.
Freeze in usable portions so it's handy when you need it. It will keep 2
weeks in refrigerator.
