* Exported from MasterCook * Layered Cheese and Beef Casserole Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 7-07 July 2004 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 ounces uncooked egg noodles 1 pound lean ground beef 3/4 cup chopped onions 16 ounces tomato sauce -- (2 8-oz. cans) 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon bottled garlic 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 cup ricotta cheese 8 ounces cream cheese -- softened 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese Cook and drain noodles. In skillet over medium-high heat, break-up and brown meat and onions; drain well when done. Add tomato sauce, salt, garlic and pepper; mix well. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes covered. In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, green onions, bell pepper and Parmesan cheese. In a 13x9x2-inch baking dish or pan, "you have sprayed with non-stick spray" layer half of each noodles, meat sauce and last cheese mix. Repeat layers ending with noodles. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35 to 40 minutes or until bubbly. Serves 6 to 8.
