* Exported from MasterCook * Quick Sicilian Style Pasta Sauce Recipe By : Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 6-07 July 2003 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 26 ounces plain spaghetti sauce -- (1 jar) 1/4 cup golden raisins 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley -- preferably Italian flat-leaf 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1 pinch sugar 2 tablespoons pine nuts 1. In a large saucepan, heat spaghetti sauce over medium heat. Stir in raisins, parsley, balsamic vinegar and sugar. Simmer gently until raisins are plumped, about 5 minutes. 2. Meanwhile, in a small dry skillet, toast pine nuts over medium heat, stirring to prevent scorching. When they are browned and fragrant, add to the sauce.
