Double Chocolate Cheese Pate

1/3 cup cream
3 ounces semisweet chocolate -- cut up
2 ounces sweet chocolate squares -- cut up
or milk chocolate
8 ounces cream cheese -- softened
1 teaspoon instant coffee powder
favorite cookies
fresh strawberries -- optional
In a 2-cup glass measure combine cream and chocolate.
Heat in a microwave oven on HIGH for 1 to 1 1/4 minutes until melted
and smooth when stirred; let cool to lukewarm.
In a medium bowl beat cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium
speed until smooth.
Beat in chocolate mixture on medium-high speed until light and fluffy,
about 2 minutes.
Stir in coffee granules.
Turn into a small serving dish or bowl.
Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
If refrigerating for several hours or longer, remove from fridge 10
minutes before serving.
Yields 1 1/4 cups.
Serve this easy chocolate pate in a bowl, along with a tray of your
favorite cookies.
Chocolate lovers will spread the pate on the cookies.
If you can find good strawberries in the market, offer a bowl of
berries on the side.
