  4              large  tomatoes -- peeled & chopped
  1              large  cucumber -- peeled &
                        finely diced
  1                     green pepper -- seeded and chopped
  2                     mild green chiles -- chopped
                        [fresh or canned]
  46            ounces  vegetable cocktail juice -- (1 large can)
     1/4           cup  red wine vinegar
                        Salt and freshly ground pepper -- to taste
     1/4      teaspoon  ground cumin
                        or Mexican seasoning
                        *Condiments*
                        Chopped green onions
                        Sliced avocado
                        Toasted pumpkin seeds
                        Ice cubes

Place the tomatoes, cucumber, pepper, chiles, vegetable juice, vinegar, 
salt, pepper and cumin in a large bowl. Stir until mixed.

Cover and chill thoroughly.

To serve, ladle into bowls and add a few condiments to each serving.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

                         Grilled Chile-Lime Wings

  5             pounds  chicken wings
  1                cup  lime juice
  4             ounces  canned chopped green chile peppers
  2        tablespoons  garlic powder
                        or 3 garlic cloves -- crushed
  2        tablespoons  paprika
  1         tablespoon  sugar
  2        tablespoons  salt
  1         tablespoon  lemon pepper
  1         tablespoon  soy sauce
     1/4           cup  olive oil -- or vegetable oil

Puree the canned chile peppers in a blender.

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and marinate for 2 to 3 hours
maximum.

Heat grill and cook wings, basting with saved marinade until done.
