1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
4 teaspoons cream of tarter
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beaten separately. Sift dry ingredients (flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, nutmeg), then
stir slowly into creamed butter and sugar. Add milk and vanilla. Mix
well. Refrigerate several hours. For a drop cookie, drop from teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.
Flatten with bottom of fruit juice glass dipped in flour. Bake at 350 F. for 10 minutes. Contributed to the FareShare Gazette by Judy; 26 December, 2001.
