Filling:
5 tart green apples -- peel,
core and slice thin -- (5 to 6)
Crust:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon -- (1/8 to 1/4)
1/2 cup butter -- 1 stick Fill buttered dish with sliced apples. Mix the brown sugar, flour, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon then cut in
butter until mixture resembles corn meal. Put a few pats of butter on top of apple slices and sprinkle with some
cinnamon and white sugar. Pat crust on top of apple slices and pat down carefully to cover
