Grease a 9-inch pie plate. Divide the sausages into two equal portions. Cut the sausages in one portion in half lengthwise then in quarters crosswise, to make 8 pieces per sausage. Cut the remaining sausages in half lengthwise then in half crosswise, to make 4 pieces per sausage. If you are using regular uncured sausages brown them in a frying pan. Combine the noodles, onion, cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, salt, pepper and the sausage eighths (the smaller pieces). Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared pie plate; sprinkle with cornflake crumbs and dot with butter or margarine. Bake for 20 minutes then arrange the rest of the pieces of sausage on top of the pie in a spoke pattern. Bake for approximately 10 minutes more or until the sausages are hot through. Remove from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes. Cut in wedges to serve.
