* Exported from MasterCook * Peaches Persian Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 15-09 Sep 2012 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 6 drained cling peach halves 1/4 teaspoon allspice 1 tablespoon grated orange rind 3 tablespoons brown sugar 1/4 cup chopped walnuts Walnut halves for garnish Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Place 6 drained cling peach halves, cut side up, into a baking dish. Combine the allspice, grated orange rind, brown sugar and chopped walnuts. Sprinkle over the peaches. Bake in a moderate (350F/180C) oven for 20 minutes. Garnish with walnut halves. Hallie's notes. I found this recipe written out on an old card in my ancient recipe box. I have no idea where it came from but it probably goes back to the 1960's or early 1970's. It is one of those recipes that can be made any time of the year since it uses canned peaches. I assume it is the use of allspice, orange rind and walnuts that prompted someone to decide they could call it Persian. Whatever name you want to call it this is a handy recipe for when you need one of those easy desserts. :) MC format by Hallie.
