* Exported from MasterCook * Glazed Squash with Onions Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 15-09 Sep 2012 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 medium acorn squash 2/3 cup water 2 cups drained cooked or canned small onions 1/2 cup walnuts 1/2 cup butter or margarine -- melted 1/2 cup dark corn syrup 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt Preheat electric frying pan to 225F. Halve the squash lengthwise; remove seeds. Pour the water into the pan. Add the squash, cut side down. Cover (vent closed) and cook until almost tender, about 20 minutes. Turn the squash over and sprinkle with a little salt. Fill the cavity with the onions and walnuts, dividing them evenly among all the halves. Mix the butter, corn syrup, cinnamon and salt; spoon over the squash halves. Cook, covered (vent open), for 15 minutes. Serves 6. From an old recipe card. MC format by Hallie.
