* Exported from MasterCook * Danish Apple Squares Recipe By : Verna Douts, Quarryville, PA; page 180 Serving Size : 24 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 13-11 Nov 2010 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- **Squares** 3 eggs 2 cups sugar 1 1/4 cups cooking oil 3 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 3 cups apple -- chopped 1 teaspoon vanilla **Topping** 8 tablespoons margarine 1 cup light brown sugar 1/4 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1. Beat eggs. Add sugar and oil and mix well. Add flour and baking soda and beat well to blend. Fold in apples and vanilla. Spoon into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. 2. Bake at 325F for 1 hour. 3. To prepare topping combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a full, rolling boil. Boil for 2 1/2 minutes. Spread over slightly cooled cake.
