* Exported from MasterCook * Walnut Frosties Recipe By : Serving Size : 20 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 13-08 Aug 2010 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- Base: 1 cup sifted all purpose flour 2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine Filling: 2 eggs 1 cup packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 cup flaked coconut Orange Butter Creme Glaze: 1 1/2 teaspoons orange juice 2 tablespoons melted butter 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioner sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange rind Combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter or margarine. Press into 8x8-inch pan. Bake at 350 F. for 10 minutes. Meanwhile make filling: Blend eggs and brown sugar. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Fold in walnuts and coconut. Pour over hot base. Bake 25 minutes longer. Cool completely in pan, then frost. Frosting: Combine orange juice and melted butter. Beat into confectioner's sugar until smooth and creamy. Stir in grated orange rind. Frost and cut into about 20 squares. Source: "Nan Carter" NOTES : I tried these bars that Nan made at a movie club meal. They are really delicious!
