* Exported from MasterCook * Texas Barbeque Sauce Recipe By : Serving Size : Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Volume 12-05 May 2009 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon paprika 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1/4 cup vinegar 1 cup tomato juice 1/4 cup catsup 1/2 cup water Mix all ingredients together and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes. This amount is sufficient for three pounds of ribs. For falling off the bone ribs, I place the ribs in a baking pan and bake them covered for about 3 hours at 325F. (This can be done the day before you need them). I remove the ribs, discard the accumulated fat and return the ribs to a cleaned up baking pan. I pour the above sauce over the ribs, cover the ribs and place in a 325F oven for about an hour. I remove the cover and let them bake for an additional 30 to 45 minutes, until the sauce has dried out a bit. They are delicious, not greasy and are as tender as can be.
