February 2006 | Oyster Bay
Sauvignon Blanc, 2005, New Zealand. OK but not much bang for the buck, we weren't impressed. Can't remember the price though. |
February 2006 | Deinhard 2003
Piesporter Riesling from Germany We did like it very much. It was around the $10-$12 Canadian, as I recall. |
February 2006 | Gato Negro
Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile; 2005. Utter rot! |
February 2006 | Terra Grande 2000
reserve. A red wine from Spain that was very rough. We've had much better Spanish reds but a lot of them can be a tad rough. |
March 2006 | Rudolf Muller (2
dots over the 'u'); 2003; Piesporter A very nice Riesling. |
March 2006 | Goldtropfchen
Riesling Kabinett Had it with a chicken pot pie and it went very well |
March 2006 | Don Cayetano
Cabernet Sauvignon. 2004. Chile. Vallee de
Colchagua It wasn't bad at all. |
July 2006 | Dr. Zenzen German
Rhine wine; 2003 Gau-Odernheimer Petersberg
Spatlese A little sweet and very fruity but not too sweet - just nicely sweet. Approximately $12 Canadian. |
July 2006 | St. Urbans-Hof 2004
riesling, German. It was just under $12 Canadian; extremely yummy with chicken. Not too dry - a wee bit sweetish but not sweet - nice acidity to cut the chicken. Was also good with a pasta alfredo |
August 2006 | Dr. Zenzen Vino
Noir; Dornfelder Rheinhessen; 2005 Qualitatswein;
red wine. An acceptable moderately priced wine (+/-$12Canadian). Not one of the truly great reds but a nice one none the less and if I were looking for something for a group of "non-connoisseurs" for a dinner I wouldn't hesitate to serve it. |
